The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events Office is seeking art entries for an exhibit in the lobby of The MAIN, the City’s arts venue in Old Town Newhall. Please see more details below.
The Arts and Events Office will be hosting an ongoing exhibit showcasing a different artist each month. The art pieces will be displayed in the lobby of the MAIN, where events such as Note by Note and 10 by 10 are hosted, as well as other entertainment. An individual artist will be showcased each month, and the exhibit will be available for viewing during all events as well as Tuesday thru Friday from 1-4 pm. Art will be installed on the first of the month and removed on the final day of the month it is featured. Participating artists will be given the opportunity to host a reception on the 3rd Thursday of the month their art is showcased. To be selected, an artist must be able to display 15-23 pieces with a maximum size limit of 60″ x 60″.
As part of the rotating exhibit, the Arts and Events Office will explore specific themes for each month. However, all art will be considered. If your artwork fits into one of the themes listed below, please indicate. Otherwise, indicate non-specific. Note that to be considered for a particular month, artwork must be submitted by the 10th of the month prior.
How to Apply
The project is open to all artists, regardless of race, color, religion, natural origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disability. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.
