Call for Artists: 2020 Town Center Art Space Exhibitions2019-08-08T16:03:23-07:00

BACKGROUND

For the past seven years, the City of Santa Clarita and Westfield Valencia Town Center have collaborated in bringing quality art experiences to the public.  The Town Center Art Space, which is an open 20 x 20 foot space on the upper level of the mall above The Canyon Club, has been used for this purpose.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events division (City) is seeking artists to exhibit work in a solo show at the Town Center Art Space. This call is open to artists working in mediums including but not limited to sculpture, ceramic, installation, new media, and video. This space can only accommodate free standing pieces that do not require being mounted to a wall. If you submit 2-D work, including paintings, photography, or similar, you must include in your proposal an alternative method of presentation.

ARTWORK THEME(S):
Although the City does not endorse any restriction on any particular artistic content, in making decisions the project’s Artist Selection Panel will consider the fact that people of all ages will see this artwork(s).

All selected artists (or art teams) shall be awarded $500 for the execution of their art exhibit, which includes the artist design fee, project-related travel, consultation throughout and project fabrication, and other artist-related costs.
