Call for Artists: 2020 Town Center Art Space Exhibitions2019-05-22T09:09:58-07:00

The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events division (City) is seeking artists or artist teams to design and display art exhibits of various types at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Art Space.  This is an opportunity for artists located in Los Angeles and Ventura County.

For the past seven years, the City of Santa Clarita and Westfield Valencia Town Center have collaborated on bringing quality art experiences to the public.  The Town Center Art Space, which is an open 20 x 20 foot space on the upper level above The Canyon Club, has been used for this purpose.  The City is seeking exhibition proposals from individuals for this space for the upcoming season of displays (January 2020 through December 2020).  Sculpture and installation work are encouraged.  Paintings and other 2D work are not accepted for consideration.  Exhibits will be featured for four months at the location.

All selected artists (or art teams) shall be awarded $500 for the execution of their art exhibit, which includes the artist design fee, project-related travel, consultation throughout and project fabrication, and other artist-related costs.

Although the City does not endorse any restriction on any particular artistic content, in making decisions the project’s Artist Selection Panel will consider the fact that people of all ages will see this artworks(s).

Artists must be able to organize and mount the proposed exhibition by January 1, 2020.  Exhibitions could open at a later date in the year, which will be at the discretion of the Arts and Events Supervisor.
