CELEBRATING ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENT IN OLD TOWN NEWHALL

The City of Santa Clarita is excited to announce the successful completion of an inspiring new art project that occurred in Old Town Newhall. This inspiring project took place in a unique, yet captivating setting, a local parking lot.

The project featured a series of portraits directed by the artist Harry Gamboa Jr. The collaboration between the performers and artist not only resulted in a unique initiative, but also highlighted the cultural value that art brings to Santa Clarita.

The artist shared, “It was a cool, ephemeral moment in the parking lot to direct the performers in order to capture the many portraits. The performers and I found the experience and the exhibition to be of great cultural value. I hope that the exhibition has been a good contribution for Newhall and the overall Santa Clarita community.”

In addition to the live project, the artist has published a book featuring copies of the showcased work. These books are available for purchase online and serve as a lasting testament to the project’s success.
