Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” which was co-directed by a CalArts alumnus, took home Oscar gold at the 2017 Academy Awards on Sunday night. The film, co-directed by 1987 CalArts graduate Rich Moore, won the Best Animated Feature Film award, going against films like “Kubo and the Two Strings” and fellow Disney Animation produced “Moana.” The award was accepted by Rich Moore, his co-director Byron Howard, and the film’s producer Clark Spencer. This was the first Oscar win for each.
