The City of Santa Clarita is inviting the community to attend the Sidewalk Poetry Reading Dedication on October 2nd, 2024, at 6:00 pm at The MAIN theater located in Old Town Newhall. The ten winning stamped poems’ locations will be revealed, and the winning poets will have an opportunity to do a live reading of their stamped poems. A map displaying the locations of the stamped poems will be available. (Seating is limited).
The wildly popular SENSES Block Party brings live music, food trucks, themed activities, and adult beverages to Main Street every Third Thursday from March to October. Grab a drink from the on-street bar, dance the night away to high-energy performers, and order a bite from the food trucks or local restaurants. Don’t miss this fun and festive adult setting right here in Santa Clarita.

Unleash Your Creativity at the Imaginary Fossils Sculpture Making Workshop! 🎨🌊
The Imaginary Fossils Sculpture Making Workshop, led by renowned artist Judith Modrak, invites participants to delve into the ancient world, drawing inspiration from marine life that flourished millions of years ago, such as trilobites, ammonites, and brachiopods. This workshop aims to spark creativity and imagination, allowing participants to sculpt their own “imaginary fossils” using a variety of materials. This workshop provides an engaging and educational experience that combines art, history, and science, encouraging participants to explore prehistoric life and express their creativity through sculpture.
This workshop will be held during Sessions 1 and 2, 10 – 11:45 p.m., at the Business for Artists Conference.
Materials Provided:
•Self-hardening clay
•Wooden pallets for the sculpture base
•An assortment of decorative items: seashells, beads, stones, and tea lights
•Found objects for texture and embellishment
•Clay tools for sculpting
•Acrylic paints for coloring
Activities:
Brief educational introduction to the types of ancient marine life that inspire the workshop
Guided sculpting session to create individual fossil sculptures
Decorating session using the provided materials to finish the sculptures
