The City of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Events Office and Santa Clarita Arts Commission seek art entries for several exhibits and performances throughout the year. Check back regularly to see what’s coming up. Several other organizations in the area also regularly seek artists and performers. This page is a source for artists to find opportunities throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

City of Santa Clarita Opportunities

Fine Craft Show
Exciting News!                                                                                                                          ENTRY FORM
The 30th Annual Fine Craft Show will be integrated into
the City of Santa Clarita’s Light Up Main Street Celebration, happening on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Fine Craft Show Lane will feature twenty high-end crafters and artists booths with handmade products for sale. Vendors applications will go through a juror panel process. Artists will be juried for quality, artistry and balance to the show. All mediums welcome. Applications must include five photos of handmade items for sale and two photos of the booth set-up.

Around the World Holiday Traditions
The City of Santa Clarita is seeking artwork for consideration                                                 ENTRY FORM
for an upcoming exhibit at Newhall Community Center.
The exhibit “Around the World Holiday Traditions” will showcase the artistic depictions of different cultural holiday celebrations and traditions that fall between November 1 and January 7. Examples include Las Posadas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Christmas (Santa), Chinese New Year, Dia de Los Muertos, Ramadan, and more. Applicants may submit artworks in the medium of their choosing as long as it is WIRED. The City of Santa Clarita utilizes a special wiring system that requires all artworks to be brought WIRED in order to safely hang. This includes but is not limited to paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, and textiles.

Art Drop Off/Installation: November 1, 2021 at 10am
Exhibition Closes/Art Pickup: January 7, 2022 at 10am

SCAA Juried Exhibit
Santa Clarita Artists Association (SCAA) members are invited to submit
up to three pieces of recent work (created in the last 12 months) to be                                    ENTRY FORM
juried for an exhibition. The theme is open and will be featured at the
Old Town Newhall Library.

Art Drop Off: October 22, 2021, time TBD
Exhibition Closes: January 14, 2022 at 10am

Valencia Library – The Youth Wall
The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events division (City) is                                                  ENTRY FORM
seeking five artists to each create artwork on 60″ x 60″ canvases,
which will all be displayed to create a 5′ x 20′ display.  Each selected artist will be provided by the City, one (1) blank canvas, artists must use the provided canvas, and must be available to pick up the canvas on agreed pick up dates. The display will be featured above the Valencia Library Children’s area for one year starting in February 2022, displayed through February 2023. The City is seeking art proposals revolving around the theme of youth. The application asks for past and previous work, as well as a written or sketched proposal for this project. Each artist will be awarded a $250 stipend, (the canvas is provided by the City, and the piece will be given back to the artist at the end of the exhibit).

10 by 10 – Variety night giving ten selected entertainers the chance to take the stage for a ten-minute performance of their choosing. Audience members will enjoy storytelling, magic, comedy, improv, music, and other forms of entertainment at this ever changing event.

Additional Opportunities

SCVTV Arts & Culture Show SCVTV is creating an Arts & Culture show to promote arts and culture in the Santa Clarita Valley. Throughout the show, they will be running interstitials featuring a variety of art forms and are seeking videos/slideshows from artists and performers.
