The City of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Events Office and Santa Clarita Arts Commission seek art entries for several exhibits and performances throughout the year. Check back regularly to see what’s coming up. Several other organizations in the area also regularly seek artists and performers. This page is a source for artists to find opportunities throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

City of Santa Clarita Opportunities

The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events Division (City) is seeking artists                                        ENTRY FORM
to exhibit in a virtual gallery to celebrate all 2021 graduates.

There is no theme other than your own creativity and we want to see your Graduation Cap design, whether you are walking at an in-person event, or graduating virtually. We are celebrating your accomplishment in what everyone can agree has been a tough year! The gallery is open to all high school and college 2021 graduates, both here in Santa Clarita and across the country.

Entry Deadline: June 1, 2021

The 2021 Santa Clarita Sister Cities student arts competition is now                                           ENTRY FORM
accepting submissions for the annual Sister Cities International Young Artists
and Authors Showcase. Santa Clarita students, aged 13 to 18, are free
to submit an entry consisting of either artwork, poetry, creative writing, essays, photographs, or music. Top submissions from Santa Clarita students are slated to be submitted to Sister Cities International in Washington, D.C., competing alongside other Sister Cities organizations across the U.S., for a grand prize of $1,000.

This year’s theme is ‘United in Hope.’ Students interested in the contest are asked to reflect and convey, through their entries, their vision of citizen diplomacy and how hope can be a uniting force during this challenging time, when the whole world is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events Division (City) is seeking artists                                          ENTRY FORM
to exhibit at the First Floor Gallery located in City Hall.

The theme ‘Color Is Your World’ encourages the best and most colorful artworks! This theme is in conjunction with the Santa Clarita Library’s summer reading program ‘Reading Colors Your World.” The broad motif of “colors” provides a context for exploring humanity, nature, culture, and science. Art can be of any style (abstract, surreal, realistic, and more). Applicants may submit artwork in the medium of their choosing as long as it can be wired and hung on a wall. This includes but is not limited to paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, and textiles. The show will be up from May 16 to July 30, 2021.

There will also be a virtual gallery created alongside the physical show.

Congressman Mike Garcia invites high school students in California’s                                          ENTRY FORM
25th Congressional District to participate in the Annual Congressional
Art Competition. Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Congressional Institute. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation and our congressional district. The first-place artist from CA-25 will have their artwork prominently displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year, beginning in May.

and spaces are juried by committee.

10 by 10 – Variety night giving ten selected entertainers the chance to take the stage for a ten-minute performance of their choosing. Audience members will enjoy storytelling, magic, comedy, improv, music, and other forms of entertainment at this ever changing event.

Additional Opportunities

SCVTV Arts & Culture Show SCVTV is creating an Arts & Culture show to promote arts and culture in the Santa Clarita Valley. Throughout the show, they will be running interstitials featuring a variety of art forms and are seeking videos/slideshows from artists and performers.
