2017 Arts Grants Issued by City
The City of Santa Clarita issued its 2017 Arts Grants to various community organizations that will fund different community arts projects and arts services within the city of Santa Clarita.

The Santa Clarita Valley Photographers Association announces its 2017 Spring Print Competition taking place on May 13, 2017 at the Sierra Hills Clubhouse located at 28616 Kenroy Ave.in Canyon Country. Judging takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a reception and viewing of entries from 3 to 5 p.m.

The performing stage formerly known as The Repertory East Playhouse, or The Rep, is in the process of being rebranded as The Main, said Phil Lantis, one of the de facto leaders of the project as the Arts and Events Administrator for Santa Clarita.

CalArts Grad’s “Zootopia” Wins Animation’s Top Prize
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia, co-directed by 1987 CalArts graduate Rich Moore, was named Best Animated Feature Saturday night at the 44th annual Annie Awards ceremony at UCLA. The Annie Awards are the animation industry’s top honors.
