CalArts Alum’s Film “Coco” Earns Oscar Nomination

Disney/Pixar’s “Coco” earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature Film, a film which CalArts alumnus Adrian Molina co-wrote and co-directed along with Lee Unkrich.

The news came early Tuesday morning as the 90th Academy Awards nominations were announced live from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Machine Project Print Sale, Wrap Party

Machine Project, the alternative artist-run space founded by CalArts alum Mark Allen (Art MFA 99), will host its final event — a celebratory goodbye party and commemorative print sale — in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, January 13 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The print sale includes Machine Project’s entire catalog of limited-edition artist prints.
