Sarah Melnick née Van Sciver composes, arranges, records, and produces scores, songs, sounds, images, and video for opera, film/TV, theatre, concert, and studio album productions. She received her Performer-Composer M.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts, Music B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, and General Music Studies Professional Certificate from the Berklee College of Music. Performing as a vocalist, pianist, harpist, ukulele player, technical director, and conductor/music director, Sarah also proudly teaches and mentors aspiring, emerging, and established performing, visual, and literary artists. Past credits include composing music for operas “Shadow House” (Philadelphia Opera Collective) and “RUBBISH” (CalArts New Works Festival) and for stage plays "The Magnus Effect" and "Fifty Days at Iliam" (Greenfield Collective); crafting score, songs, and sound for the film “Strange as Angels;” and releasing three original EP music albums of her songs and scores.
