A solo exhibit by artist Julianna Aparicio-Curtis

Julianna Aparicio-Curtis captures the ethereal, fragile and majestic images of nature, the feminine form, and the luminosity of the natural world. Her surrealistic, abstract, and whimsical depictions of animals, nature, and the earth, has generated a large fan base, on social media, gallery, and her art shows. She has won several awards for her enchanting visions of women encircled in plant life and nature, her delicate seahorses, dragonflies and birds enveloped in saturated colors, textures and multicolored visions of the ecosystems of the forest and living organisms. She is inspired by nature and the mystical and organic essence that exists in all things of the earth, the feminine and beyond.

Julianna is an experimental, self-taught artist. She dabbles in anything and everything with color and form: paper, wax, fabric, inks, acrylics, collage, watercolor, and even broken metal. She is influenced by Gustav Klimt’s decorative eclectic gold masterpieces; Georgia O’Keefe’s enlarged simplified flowers; Frida Kahlo’s folk-inspired, magical realism, and Van Gogh’s bold expressed emotion. Julianna is a constant knowledge seeker; learning experimental unusual techniques. She is inspired by the imagination of her beautiful granddaughter. She adores gardening, is a certified Yoga instructor, avid reader, zealous traveler, writer, gourmet cook and singer. Julianna has a passion for the environment, women and young girls’ social issues. She hopes her art can enrich the senses, invoke strong feelings, inspire and bring joy and hope to young women and others who struggle with self-esteem.
