Originally from Panama, Carlos is a self-taught mixed-media artist who always appreciated art, but never had any intentions of becoming an artist. Over time he went from just using crushed eggshells to other repurposed items like drinking straws, leaves, etc., but it was the suggestion from a co-worker to use shredded CDs as a medium that really took his next pieces to a whole new level.

Because art can be subjective, Carlos aims to offer an array of images, styles, mediums and more. With the use of recycled materials, he expresses his vision to reach a growing audience. Many of his recent works shown in this exhibit include broken glass, providing interaction with lighting.

As an art admirer, Carlos always gravitated to artists whose work seemed to be constantly evolving, so it seems natural that this would be Carlos’ goal: to try to find new expressions of mixed-media art with his preferred mediums, all the while giving hsi audience new manifestations of his creativity and love for art.
