The following organizations provide opportunities, support, and professional development to artists in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Theatre
Canyon Theatre Guild provides quality live theatre in the Santa Clarita Valley and also offers educational opportunities and family shows.
Workshops and performance opportunities are available for youth and teens ages 7 and older.
Escape Theater is a children’s theatre company that provides learning and performance opportunities to the youth of the area. Each year they produce two to three full scale musicals, host a two-week summer camp, and hold a six-week dinner theater event.
Performance opportunities are available for youth and teens ages 6 to 18.
Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival
Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival is a small professional theatre company dedicated to bringing enriching, engaging and entertaining programs and performances to everyone in the community.
Educational opportunities provided for children grades K to 12.
Music
Newhall Community Center has music classes available year-round in guitar and string.
Classes are available for youth and teens ages 7-18.
Santa Clarita Master Chorale promotes fine choral music through an annual concert series of outstanding quality, educational enrichment programs, and involvement in community-based arts efforts.
Educational Outreach programs are available for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.
Membership is for adults only, but under-18s are encouraged to contact them about their season-long internship program.
Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra
Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra supports the fine arts education via orchestral performances.
They provide an instrumental education program for students 8 and older.
Visual Arts
ARTree Community Arts Center builds community by providing opportunities to nurture creative thinking and expression through the unique power of the arts.
Classes and workshops are available for youth ages 5 and up, teens and adults. Free workshops are available monthly for children of all
ages and their families.
This program provides a high quality, comprehensive K–8 visual arts curriculum. Students learn about works of art from cultures around the world, how to describe art using art vocabulary and concepts, and how to express themselves by creating their own unique masterpieces. Supported by training classes and online resources, the unique spiral curriculum gives students a solid foundation in drawing, painting, and sculpture techniques.
Art in Action curriculum is for students grades K-8.
This school allows experienced music teachers help students attain musical proficiency from singing to drums to guitar, and teach students to perform live.
Lessons, camps and workshops are available for youth ages 3 and up, teens and adults.
Canyon Country Community Center
The canyon country community center has art classes and camps available year-round.
Classes are available for youth ages 5-12.
Picasso’s Playmates is a full-service art studio for all ages, offering classes and workshops in fine art, nature journaling and parent & me.
Classes are available for parent & me for ages 2-5, and art for ages 5-12, 13-18, and 18+. Summer camps are open for youth ages 5-1/2 and up.
Dance
This company was founded as a performing outlet for advanced ballet students. Through partnerships, students dancers are given an opportunity to perform with
professional guest artists and provides the community with quality, semi-professional ballet theater.
