The Santa Clarita Artists’ Association Gallery is hosting an exhibit of fine art by the members of the association. Urban View will showcase art representing view of city, town, buildings and those inhabiting them.

A group show by artists Jose Barba, Lynda Frautnick and Jeanne Iler. These three Santa Clarita artists will show their new paintings at the SCAA Gallery located at 22508 Sixth St. in Newhall.  The show also will feature daily demos and gift items.

Artist Laura Hunt will being exhibit eight pieces of her original works at Canyon Country Library.
This solo exhibit, titled “Passing Through” will be from June 1 to August 12. Her works show
the way she sees and enjoy the beauty of nature and outside world.

Born and raised in New England, Laura Hunt received her bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College, where she studied English and theater arts. She also studied art history and French literature in Paris during her junior semester abroad. Upon graduating, she moved to New York City where she studied acting with the legendary Bill Esper. She now lives in Santa Clarita with her college sweetheart, toddler and yorkie. Laura has always been a little lost in her imagination, which means she naturally gravitated toward the arts. Growing up, she studied ballet, acted in plays, wrote short stories and created puppet shows with her brother. As an adult, Laura began painting as a way of relieving stress and quickly found that she could not put her paintbrush down. Enjoying the meditative nature of the art, painting allowed a way of expressing everything that cannot be put into words. She sees painting as a way to contemplate the world’s beauty. The City of Santa Clarita invites the public to a free artist reception for the latest exhibition at The First Floor Gallery at City Hall. Enjoy light appetizers and meet the artists featured in this newest exhibition.

The theme for this exhibit is inspired by the 2020 social media movement #MuseumMomentsofZen. Artists submitted pieces that bring themselves a moment of peace, clarity, and Zen. Artwork in this exhibit is intended to provide the audience with these same feelings. Take a moment to let art provide you with a quiet moment! Artworks range from a peaceful walk through nature, quiet photographic scenes, and persons having a moment of reflection.

There is a total of 41 pieces of art and 31 artists exhibiting in this show.

This group show exhibits a colorful world of imagination. With 43 artists and over 50 pieces, you will be seeing the world in color!

This exhibit is in conjunction with Santa Clarita Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, “Reading Colors Your World.” Explore a world of colors around Santa Clarita with wonderful programs and prizes from June 1 through July 23. All programs will be held in a variety of formats this summer including onsite locations, local parks or online, quick pick-ups, and more. All programs and events are FREE and open to all ages!
